Based in Warren, Ohio

Since 2003, Landen Studios has provided state-of-the-art gear and an intimate atmosphere to foster your creative process. We offer turnkey studio services and a spacious live room that has been treated acoustically to create an ideal artist recording environment.

Dan, the owner, is a 1979 grad of Boston University School of Music. His main instruments at that time were trombone, bass, and keyboards. He has performed across the USA with many great bands and still does.

THE EQUIPMENT

Technology Matters

We work in Win 10 Pro using Cakewalk Platinum (64 bit) plus Mac with ProTools 12. Our audio engine is the RME Fireface 800 and our primary mic is the wonderful Mojave MA-200 processed through a Focusrite Platinum VoiceMaster Pro. I say ‘wonderful’ because the Mojave MA-200 hears everything and the Voice Master Pro makes it sound great. We have our Mac and Windows systems connected at the hip so we can cross-platform sounds and samples on the fly.

You can bring your own instruments, of course. But we do have a few of our own: Roland TD-30, Yamaha ModX, Nord Electro 5HD, and a Roland Juno DS. We have 4 sets of monitors so you can test your final track to make sure it meets various setups. The main monitors are Rokit 5 and Rockit 10 with sub-woofer. In addition to the Mojave mic, we also have professional mics by Shure, Sennheiser, and EV. Headphones are Beyer Dynamic DT 770 for everyone, so we hear the same sound quality.

Melodyne Studio, yes, we tune your vocals perfectly.
Native Instruments, their brass is exceptional. Too many other instruments to list, though.
IK Multimedia, the best classical samples anywhere.
Waves by Sony. Again, too many to list.
